ProjectConnect talks a lot about compatibility, but does anyone know if there have been specifics about what that means? Or are there any cities that already use form-based code with compatibility to determine whats appropriate for a parcel? I like the idea but compatibility seems so subjective that I dont see how well implement it. And if you start adding formulas and such to determine what goes where, then you end up with the mess we already have in Austin. Will we have a panel of architects and urban planners who decide? That might work for a small city but I cant see it scaling to Austin. (Plus one side or the other will try to pack the panel.) Im guessing they dont want to get specific for fear upsetting the anti-density crowd, but at some point itll need to get discussed.
