Promised video on teaching your dog to stay calm, yet have fun (and exercise), while playing fetch. Our Theo used to turn into a shark when playing fetch - over threshold and dangerous to anyone trying to grab the ball. Here is Theo now. The process entailed: 1. using impulse control (say please by sitting and looking at me), 2. starting with two balls (one hed have in his mouth as an alternative to grabbing the one we wanted to throw), and 3. progressing to him dropping the ball. Note part way through he starts to go over threshold (barking and refusing to drop the ball). I waited him out and turned my back until he made the right choice.
