Promos for this week...... Our Orleans Farmers market is located on Beautiful Congress Square each Saturday morning from 8 am to 12 noon. This past Saturday was a great Market Day for Orange County HomeGrown. It started out a little on the chili side but quickly warmed as the sun came out. Lost River Market and Deli put on a tasty food demonstration and the shoppers were taking advantage of the late produce. This Saturday you can expect from our home gardens and farms, watermelons, gourds, apples, dried beans, beets, chili peppers, eggplant, flowers, beef, chicken, pork, fish, green beans, herbs, okra, onions, radishes, sweet peppers, potatoes, pumpkins, mums, squash, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, turnips, eggs and zucchini. From our home bakers you will see, decorated sugar cookies, fudge, peanut brittle, muffins, cinnamon rolls, scones, pies, quick breads, yeast rolls, salt rising breads, cobblers, syrups (maple, blackberry, strawberry, peach, shag bark hickory), jam and jelly, brownies, and cakes. Crafts will include, hand carved wood canes, hair bows, dog collars and leashes, bird feeders and houses, wind chimes, crochet and knit items, wood bowls, hats, scarves, jewelry, leather goods, purses, wall art, oil paintings, rugs, rustic furniture, goats milk soaps, lotions, makeups, tote bags, air plants, baby blankets, aprons, hand towels, pillows, tooth fairy pillows, hand carved items, wood signs, zen gardens, candles, cradles, wood toys, cutting boards, note cards, baby products, hand made Amish baskets and much more. This weeks family friendly event will be "Hunting Fossils with Kym Kinsley, She travels all over Indiana hunting fossils with her husband Sam. This event is fun as well as educational. Each child will be allowed to hunt and keep two fossils. She will be set up from 10 am until 12. Come and hunt fossils and learn about plants and insects that used to be here in Indiana. Our Jammers will be tuned up and filling the air with music. They are here each Saturday for your listening pleasure. We all appreciate these talented people that show up each Saturday. All are welcome to come and sit and join in with our Beloved Jammers. If you are looking for a nice place to eat or stay, stop in the Visitors Center located on the North end of Beautiful Congress Square. They are in the know of all happenings in our awesome county. Stop in and say hello and receive a free tote. Our family friendly market gladly accepts SNAP/EBT and Wic checks. Offerings this week will be, potatoes, radishes, tomatoes, pumpkins, peppers, radishes, green onions, peanut brittle, fudge, cookies, goats milk soap, jewelry, dish towels, aprons, scrubbies, cloth books, fiber art, decorative heirloom quality baby blankets, wind chimes, syrups (blackberry, strawberry, peach, shag bark hickory), and much more. Come shop our market, check our our well stocked Buck a Book (kids can pick a free book each market day), listen or join in with our Jammers. They are always tuned up and filling the air with music.
