Proof of God #101 Revelation 18 12-24 Greed Conquered Interpreting the Bible Yesterday John had reached a point in his prophecy where the “church” had removed its false theology of building extravagant churches and was beginning to adhere to the “theology of Jesus” based in Jesus’ telling the “young rich man” to sell all he had and to give it to the poor. The merchants who had supplied these luxurious items to the “church” are now mourning their loss. Revelation 18: 12. cargo of gold, silver, jewels and pearls, fine linen, purple, silk and scarlet, all kinds of scented wood, all articles of ivory, all articles of costly wood, bronze, iron and marble, 13. cinnamon, spice, incense, myrrh, frankincense, wine, oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and slaves, that is, human souls. “Slaves” human souls, some will say this didn’t happen! But it did. After Constantine made the “church” legitimate, rich people began giving their “estates” to the church at their deaths. These estates included slaves. John is a 100% accurate. And the church kept the slaves and used them to work the land they received, they gave the food they raised to the poor, but they retained the slaves. 14. The fruit for which your soul longed has gone from you, and all your dainties and your splendor are lost, never to be found again! This verse is still referencing the merchants, but it could also be applied to some of the “church” until they too had been cleansed of their “Greed.” 15. The merchants of these wares, who gained wealth from her, will stand far off, in fear of her torment, weeping and mourning aloud, 16. Alas, alas, for the great city that was clothed in fine linen, in purple and scarlet, bedecked with gold, with jewels, and with pearls! 17. In one hour all this wealth has been laid waste. And all shipmasters and seafaring men, sailors and all whose trade is on the sea, stood far off At the time of John and for centuries after the things that were brought into Rome to glorify the “church” came on ships. A lot of it probably still does. 18. and cried out as they saw the smoke of her burning, What city was like the great city? 19. And they threw dust on their heads, as they wept and mourned, crying out, Alas, alas, for the great city where all who had ships at sea grew rich by her wealth! In one hour she has been laid waste. 20. Rejoice over her, O heaven, O saints and apostles and prophets, for God has given judgment for you against her! 21. Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, So shall Babylon the great city be thrown down with violence, and shall be found no more; The “beast” of Greed has been conquered by the “church” and never again, will it raise its ugly head, it is destroyed, forever. This is something that has not yet happened. It is not as bad as it was a thousand years ago, but it continues to be a problem. 22. and the sound of harpers and minstrels, of flute players and trumpeters, shall be heard in you no more; and a craftsman of any craft shall be found in you no more; and the sound of the millstone shall be heard in you no more; Once the Kingdom is fully filled, the church will no longer be necessary, so therefore, the above will be true, as well as the next verse. 23. and the light of a lamp shall shine in you no more; and the voice of bridegroom and bride shall be heard in you no more; for your merchants were the great men of the earth, and all nations were deceived by your sorcery. Men and women will enter the world as babies, knowing exactly who they will spend their lives with and marriages will no longer be necessary, their original marriage, 100’s of years in the past, still applies, and is honored by all, because all will remember it. 24. And in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints, and of all who have been slain on earth. This last verse is probably a real reach for most of you to fathom at this point in time, but the purpose of God, was to find all the evil in the world, destroy it, and replace it with good, love, compassion, and forgiveness. And all of the above were slain as a result of that search for evil, making it another accurate prophecy about the “church.” Tomorrow, Rejoicing in Heaven.
