Proof of God #162 Ezekiel 13 13-18 False Prophecy Exposed Interpreting the Bible 13. Therefore this says the Lord God: I will make a stormy wind break out in my wrath; and there shall be a deluge of rain in my anger, and great hailstones in wrath to destroy it. The Hebrew word translated here as “Lord,” is name of God “Adonai.” In the NIV it is translated as “soverign.” It means the “one who is together with us through life,” and He is. The first “stormy wind” that is to be loosed upon Judah, is the return of the Babylon army in 586 BC, just 10 years after the first incursion. The “rain” will be the arrows of the Babylonian archers that will rain down from over the walls. The great hailstones references the great rocks that will be sent over the wall from the Roman catapults. Catapults were not used in the area until the Greeks came, and they did not use them against Jerusalem. Modern theologians failures to understand this verse as parables for what actually happened over 700 years after it was written, allowed them to abandon God as a proven fact and to lead thousands to believing falsely that God could not predict the future, and that this was written as a history, not as a prophecy which it obviously is. 14. I will break down the wall that you have daubed with whitewash, and bring it down to the ground, so that its foundation will be laid bare; when it falls, you shall perish in the midst of it; and you shall know that I am the Lord. All of those false “good times are coming” prophesies that were the coloring for their “whitewash” are going to be driven into the dirt along with the walls of Jerusalem. Their last realization will be that Ezekiel was a true prophet of God, something that is lost on modern theologians. 15. Thus will I spend my wrath upon the wall, and upon those who have daubed it with whitewash; and I will say to you, The wall is no more, nor those who daubed it, The facts remain that Ezekiel was right, because he only spoke the words of God. The false prophets were destroyed along with their “whitewash” and the ancient walls of Jerusalem. 16. the prophets of Israel who prophesied concerning Jerusalem and saw visions of peace for her, when there was no peace, says God. There could have been peace, if the prophets had followed the steps of Jonah for their own people. If they had convinced them to throw themselves on the mercy of God, If they had sought to make right the wrongs they had committed, if they had set their minds upon following the ways of God to do justly and to treat people fairly, the walls of Jerusalem would still be standing. 17. And you, son of man, set your face against the daughters of your people, who prophesy out of their own minds; prophesy against them Well, now that the men who were false prophets have been dealt with and killed off, it is time to deal with the women. 18. and say, Thus says the Lord God: Woe to the women who sew magic bands upon all wrists, and make veils for the heads of persons of every stature, in the hunt for souls! Will you hunt down souls belonging to my people, and keep other souls alive for your profit? For some reason, women always seem to be associated with witchcraft or magic. The “bands” were no more “magic” than the gazillions of “bands” that are in use today to note support for breast cancer, missing children, aids, etc. There are some “magic” bracelets, that are being marketed as having a “magic” to increase your stability from falling, copper bracelets to help with arthritis, magnetic bracelets which are supposed to help with something. All it takes to change them to “magic” is a gullible fool being in contact with a little smarter “confool.” I create the word “confool” because anyone who would devise such an obvious con-game, is a fool, because for every penny they steal, God will take at least two. They may thrive for the moment, but in the end, they will be in the hole for double their take. The Hebrew words that are translated as “making of veils” may offer us an insight as to why women began to wear them in the first place.
