Proof that *ultra conservatives* are thieves -- they try to take social security benefits away from the people that paid into it. Yes, thats right, social security is not the free ticket entitlement they claim it to be. Everyone pays into it, and the amount you have paid into the fund determines how much money you will be able to claim for payout later. The money is invested in a giant trust, and grows over time, just like any investment, which is why you are able to receive more money than you put into it should you need to. This is not some complicated insurance scheme where there are a ton of freeloaders on the system that are milking it dry. This is YOUR money. You have literally paid into this thing on up to $118,500 of your salary (see: ssa.gov/planners/maxtax.htm), and it is insanity that anyone could then take it away from you. The purpose of Social Security is to provide a safety blanket for the population as they age and retire. Without it, wed have streets filled with homeless seniors who are incapable of working. It is not a government funded safety blanket. You have paid your dues. And for these imbeciles to come along and try to take it away... yes... under our current law that is called GRAND THEFT. Im so sick of the extremes in this country. Come back to the middle please.
