Property used by Geelani belongs to JI, spokesman Date: 20 Jan 2014 Property used by Geelani belongs to JI, spokesman Srinagar: A one-day convention of Markazi Majlis Shoora (Central Advisory Council) of Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir was held at central office in Baranpather Batamaloo on Monday with Ameer Jama’at Mohammad Abdullah Wani in chair. The convention which was attended by all the valley-based members of the council besides district presidents (Umra-e-Azla) deliberated upon various issues pertaining to the organization and discussed some other important issues related to dawah activities of Jama’at. Besides, the meeting also said that the property at Rehmatabad Hyderpora currently being used by Syed Ali Geelani Sahib for residential and official purposes actually belongs to Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting also unanimously reaffirmed the decision previously taken by Jama’at that the said property will remain in the lifelong possession of Syed Ali Geelani Sahib. Nevertheless, after Geelani Sahib Jama’at will be authorized to take any decision about it. The meeting also decided to send a delegation of Jama’at-e-Islami with a letter of Ameer-i-Jama’at to Geelani Sahib to verify the facts regarding the news appearing in some papers about the donation of the said property to some trust.
