Prosecute Omar, aides in Haji Yusuf case: Cong KISHTWAR, Dec 9: Former Congress Minister and MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today demanded that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah should be prosecuted for his `alleged’ involvement in the murder of National Conference worker Haji Mohammad Yusuf. Saroori alleged that recently the former IG Crime and PDP candidate from North Kashmir’s Uri constituency, Raja Aijaz Ali had alleged that late Haji Mohammad Yusuf was interrogated at CM’s residence in Srinagar for 3-hours in presence of Omar and his close aides, Nasir Aslam Wani, Devender Singh Rana and Shabir Ahmed, Personal Security Officer of Omar Abdullah. Following the revelations made by Raja Aijaz Ali, the family members of the deceased NC worker appealed Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene and get an FIR registered against Omar and his aides. “Omar Abdullah can no more befool people with his politics of hatred and division as he stands exposed before the general masses,” he maintained. Saroori further said, “Omar Abdullah is also responsible for hushing up the double rape and murder case in Shopian. How can we expect that he would allow registration of FIR in a case where he is himself main accused,” he said, adding, that the statement by Omar Abdullah that he was innocent will not acquit him from the murder case. He cannot act as a judge in his own cause. He has to get the clean chit from Supreme Court where Haji Yusuf son’s petition is pending disposal.” The former Minister said it is irony that till last week Omar Abdullah was terming death of Haji Yousuf as natural and now, he himself asserted during an election rally in Uri that he had handed over Yousuf to then IG Crime and he died in police custody. “We strongly believe that Haji Yousuf was murdered. He was tortured to death by Omar Abdullah and his close confidants,” he said.
