Prosper Build-Out: 70,000 People The population today is over 11,700 people, up from 2,100 in the 2000 census. But that does not even begin to tell the story of Prosper. Over 3,000 new residential single-family lots have been platted in the past 18 months. Now, hundreds of new homes are springing up. And more residential lots are scheduled, with the largest being Windsong Ranch, Phase 2 and 3, where 4,100 homes will be built. The intersection of Hwy 380 and Preston Road is the hottest future retail location in North Texas. Jerry Jones’ Blue Star Land Development owns both sides of Preston Road, and development for retail, restaurants, etc. is expected soon.
