Protect Isreal By: Andrew Andrew M Langton Throughout the history of humanity, Jews have consistently been, without question, the most persecuted racial minority in the western world. The Holocaust must never happen again and The U.S. must create policy that protects Isreal. Since 1945, there have been numerous real threats to destroy Isreal at all costs. After the U.N. created Isreal, which was both supported by the U.S and Russia, every Muslim country on Earth turned loose on Tel-Aviv. This is a fact. It is now known as the seven day war, and Isreal prevailed by fighting bravely and defending their country. (Its important to note that Jews have not always been so quick to kill. Until the seven day war, many Jews in Isreal believed in non-violence and refused to join armies.) Many enemies of Isreal believe the Holocaust was a good thing. There are still high-ranking leaders in Iran, and elsewhere, who believe that the holocaust never happened. Many leaders throughout the middle east believe that Jews have fabricated the facts around the Holocaust to gather sympathy from the world community. They believe Isreal uses these lies to occupy Palestine. This is not something the U.S. should take lightly. Sure, some progress has been made. Peace treaties have been signed by Yemen, Jordan, Turkey and Egypt, among others, but the sad truth is this only happened by the point of a gun. Ive witnessed several negetive reactions on Facebook towards Isreals occupation of Gaza and the West Bank. Informed Americans may be wondering, What business does Isreal have in occupying the West Bank? There are many leaders in a number of middle eastern countries that still dont believe in Israes right to exist. It could be very easy for a number of people from a number of middle eastern coutries to influence Palestine in the worst of ways. Palestine has a very high unemployment rate, high inflation, and little infruastructure. They have virtually no institutions. So ask yourself - if you were running Isreal, how sympathetic would you be towards Hamas? In spite of all the violence, Isreali citizens have the highest standard of living in the Middle East. They have the most successful Socialist economy in the world and a thriving democracy. Palestine deserves to be free, but Isreal deserves to be free, too. I believe the U.S. should continue to support Isreal and its occupation of Palestine. Isreal simply has too much to loose, and for this to change, the Palestinian people must force Hamas to represent them better. Their freedom depends on it.
