Proteolytic enzymes function as an anti-inflammatory agent by - TopicsExpress

Proteolytic enzymes function as an anti-inflammatory agent by digesting the protein of inflammation while stimulating tissue repair, in contrast to the blocking of tissue repair that takes place with OTC anti-inflammatory meds like aspirin and acetaminophen (NSAIDS). Proteolytic enzymes can very safely be taken up to 1-2 per hour during the initial acute phase of repair. This phase can be 1-4 weeks. I find that when one starts feeling a little digestive discomfort it is time to reduce to 1X3/day. It amazes me how incredibly effective this strategy can be. Most people who do this dont even need any pain medications even after a serious surgery or traumatic injury. Share your victories if you have had a successful injury recovery using a similar protocol.
