Protesters in the Hatikva neighbourhood set trash cans alight, broke some stores window and attacked African migrants who were passing-by. They also attacked an African migrant driving through the area and broke his car’s windows. The immigrant experience in Israel sounds a lot like that of France: one of intense social, cultural, and economic marginalization. But when terror hits home, we point at other factors to explain how those barbaric people behave, regardless of where they are in the world and how privileged they should feel to live within a democratic society.
