Protests make me uncomfortable when they assume solidarity on all and sundry left-wing causes. The best stay sharp and on-message and remember why everyone is ACTUALLY there like the anti-Iraq War walks or the MUA pickets in the late 90s (because face it, some of those wharfies I stood beside were pretty leery & would have struggled to raise even a limp fist for International Womens Day) but, all that said, bring on March In March Sydney 2014 b/c if there were ever a good time to hit the streets screaming shrilly about pretty much everything, its now.
