Proud Mom Moment 2014... I just received a telephone call from my sons immediate commanding officer, TAC Officer, personally inviting me to Eric Ricky Warrens promotion to Cadet Sergeant First Class (commonly known as Platoon Sergeant). He told me my son has not only excelled individual, but has helped others excel as well. In addition, he stated my son displays a leadership style, unlike his own, but is absolutely effective. In addition, he reported Erics interview was exemplary. This was a kid, my husband and I would not have been surprised to see his car parked in my driveway his first week at Wentworth Military Academy & College (WMA) last year. My only regret is that I am unable to be there to see him get his new gold bars, as his ceremony is 11:35 AM tomorrow and I start a brand new training group. However, it is important he knows how truly proud we are of his maturity into a fantastic young man we always knew he would be. We always told him he was a leader, but he had to know it for himself. It is a proud moment for any parent to see your baby (my kids will always be my babies) come into their own. Yes, we will make mistakes and experience disappointments, but continuing to keep moving in what you pray is the right direction, makes all of the difference.
