Proverbs 15:1-3 HCSB A gentle answer turns away anger, but a harsh word stirs up wrath. The tongue of the wise makes knowledge attractive, but the mouth of fools blurts out foolishness. The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, observing the wicked and the good. Dude had been arrested 30 times already. I would have taken 31-40 arrests before I fought on the street corner with the police. If you believe as many do that the police are rogue you know arguing and fighting them isnt going too go well. My father use to say, use your eyes and and your head but not your mouth. Comply and greive it, but dont go up against five cops thinking its a Chinese movie and theyre going to come at you one at a time. Heres another point Ive agrued for years. Where I grew up in the south bronx many of our parents spoke against joining the NYPD. I had one cousin who was older who retired from nypd and one younger cousin whos currently on the force. The righteous need to join as many police forces as posssible across this nation and change it from within. Youll always have your controversial cases but the peace of God does follow the righteous and will bring peace where the righteous tread. Final, let me say that this wasnt murder. Negligent homocide or maybe manslaughter or some other lesser charge, but not murder. You would have to prove they set out with intent and thats not going to happen. The Prosecutor pushing for and the community demanding a murder charge risk over charging in this case and ending up with no conviction. Yes that choke hold was outlawed when I was a kid, but at his weight, his health condition and being angry and agitated, running up a flight of stair could have caused the same end results.I believe in the end at lease two officers will lose their jobs, Al Sharpton will get another payday and the family will win a large lawsuit, more policies will be changed, but I dont see jail time for any of these cops...IJS
