Proverbs 16: 2 All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirits. Note the first phrase of this verse “All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes.” In this phrase we seen “man at his worst,” for he does no realize he is being controlled by His “ungodly ego (spirit)” and he is sure he is right. Then note the next phrase: “But the Lord weighs the spirits.” For it is the spirit of man that controls Him. Unless we are controlled by the Holy Spirit, which we receive at our conversion and became a member of God‘s Kingdom, we will be controlled by our sinful spirit and the evil one (Satan) will be in charge.
