Proverbs 22:9 The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor. Do you have a generous eye? In other words, do you look for opportunities to be generous? Or do you turn a blind eye to benevolent opportunities? Maybe you say, If I had more I would give more away, but I cant be generous because I have so little. Notice the example in the second half of this verse. The one with a generous eye gives his bread to the poor! It doesnt say, out of his abundance he gives some of his riches. You see, giving his bread to the poor was a sacrifice, because it was his food. He went hungry for a meal, because someone else was eating it. If he had bread in abundance, it wouldnt be that generous to give some away, but if he had very little it makes it even more generous. Dont buy the lie, that generosity is only for those who are well off. Generosity is for everyone. I would like to give you three quick steps toward transforming your blind eye into a generous eye. 1. Understand that what you have was given to you. 2. Hold what you have very loosely, because it will make it easier to let it go. 3. Be thankful. Remember, God loves a cheerful giver xx
