Proverbs 23:7 hints at a certain principle with part of the verse reading, For as he (man) thinks in his heart so is he... If your critics were to constantly say your not who you know you are or at least have been - one can easily see the disagreement in perception. Critics usually are not a friend and have personal motive(s) for their version of events a (kill or be killed) mentality - usually without face to face commentary. True friends will tell you truth, viewing you as worth communicating to, with a desire for your good and most times a helping hand. God knows who you are and Who you are becoming increasingly like. He is the Spirit of truth and does desire our good, on the strength of His character and commitment. He even has faith in it and you!
