Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: - TopicsExpress

Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: Vision means mental sight, a revelation. Perish means to loosen, to let go, to dismiss, to ignore, to reject, to be unruly, to be unbridled and to become lawless. Thus where there is no revelation of God the people become lawless. The people reject authority and begin to do what is right in their own sight. This is why our nation is in the condition that it is in today. Denominations, churches, believers have not experienced revival, refreshing and revitalization on a continual basis, thus the people we come in contact with, our communities, our nation has not received a clear revelation of God and thus our neighborhoods, our cities and the nation is full of people that are living just as the Bible tells us people who have been left without that revelation will live. Think of the condition of our nation today compared to when you were a child. Now think of the church services we had back then compared to today. Our nation is in decline, any honest evaluation would agree. Our churches at one time had services where people would mourn and be broken at the altar in a sovereign move of God. Yet think of services today in the Pentecostal church they are filled with shouting, rejoicing, celebration basically every service. The services are geared to go this direction with nothing viewed as negative spoken. But the services where the spirit of God sweeps in and people without being prompted by man run to the altar in brokenness, humility and weeping are basically nonexistent. Yet our nation is in decline and the church celebrates instead of repenting and being broke. This is a sure sign the flesh and not the Spirit is directing things. The good news is God is willing to revive us and we can as individuals, as churches, as a church in America give the people of America a genuine revelation of God and revival can sweep this nation once again. I think about the revival in Wales it so swept the people that bars went out of business, court’s had few if any cases on the docket’s, and even the mules that worked in the mines had to be retrained because previously they followed curse words as commands but the miners got saved and stopped using profanity so they had to retrain the mules. If we as individuals make the choice to turn back to God, back to intimacy with him and experience revival and receive revelation via the Holy Spirit of the deep wisdom, knowledge, decisions, methods and ways of God. Then we will shine forth the revelation of God to our realms of influence and those in that realm will be brought back under restraint and change can and will come. If local churches do so communities will be restrained from evil and changed. If enough of the church as a whole in America does so the nation can be restrained from evil and changed.
