Providing school meals helps children receive adequate nourishment and improve their school attendance. The U.S. Mission to the United Nations Agencies in Rome shows children at Wat Run Primary School in Run Taek Commune receiving a breakfast consisting of rice, yellow split peas, and green vegetables. In coordination with Cambodia’s Ministry of Education, the U.N. World Food Programme delivers the daily breakfast. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s McGovern-Dole Program provides the rice and split peas.
