Ps 74:20 – Watchmen praying in the last days Our days call for watchmen to enter positions on the Walls of Jerusalem. Theirs is a standing far different from what religious men produce in their sentimental affinity. What are these men like? What do they see? How do they pray? They enter their role on the foundation of the New Covenant – which provides a heart which is able to reach beyond the ordinary, hearts cautiously gathering “in the counsel of the LORD”. In the providing of a heavenly perspective, they set course for the Word of the Lord to find themselves over and over again directed to the New Covenant and its applications in the days now at hand. The first and major prayer is recorded for our days of turmoil and trouble in Psalms 74:20: “Consider thy covenant, for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of violence.” Ours ought to be a thinking and a corporate prayer tamed by the New Covenant and the apocalyptic seeing to follow it. When the mystery of iniquity is developing rapidly into its final revelation, the prayer life of the Church has to follow strictest Covenant implications. Zion rests on the New Covenant. Zion is covered by the New Covenant. The Messiah, Jesus Christ, returns as the Redeemer to Zion in the finalization of the New Covenant. Men, and women, on the Wall of Jerusalem learn to pray corporately according to the New Covenant. Isa 62:6, Jer 31:31-33, Jer 23:18
