Psalm 1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of The Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgement, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; for the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish. Lord-God, Penetrate my heart with YOUR word and never let me feel like I can move past Scripture. Lord, give me the desire to open your word, delight in your word, meditate on your word and live by your word. Lord, make your word and your person real to me in a way that I get up and eat your word and stand like a tree planted by a stream. Make me like that tree that yields fruit as I am daily nourished by your word. Lord, you know how weak I am. Lord, bind up the wicked desires of my flesh and give me the desire to walk in your ways. Lord, left to myself I will wander and stray and fall to worldly views. Lord, make yourself so REAL to me this morning that this 70-80 years on this earth is not my focus. Lord, make my focus be on you and the promises YOU have made for a new heaven and a new earth, with a new physical body that is sin free, and together with you. Lord, fill me with your Spirit today that I may walk by your hand that every person that sees and hears me today Lord would have a slight, minuscule glimpse of your greatness and your power. Lord-God, reveal yourself to me this morning that I may walk as your word says in Galatians 5:16- "But i say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh." Amen.
