Psalm 16 (15) :-"Lord, my God, in you I take refuge." The Lord - TopicsExpress

Psalm 16 (15) :-"Lord, my God, in you I take refuge." The Lord our God is a safe heaven and if you are looking for the joy of being able to be sitted at home with him keep in mind that one of the curiosities in spiritual life is that the latter may be the first and sinners are always welcome. Jesus, the Master never spoke to the people to come and a single or unique temple or to be placed on the book in a particular church. The teacher teaches us that what really matters is a broken and contrite heart and not be noticed when we pray or we are searchig for a close up encounter with God. If there is a marked contrast between the teachings of the Psalms and the teachings of Jesus, is that in the New Testament we have a new teaching with while in the Old Testament they pray for vengeance, vindication and for the enemies disappearing. Here and now in the New Testament Jesus prays that may the enemy be blessed and be protected from all evil or adversities. Now there is new path and what it counts is a new commandment: love your neighbor as you love yourself, pray for your enemies and seek peace above all. The psalm ends with the confidence. By this guidance we can march even we know is going to be a difficult road, filled with many trials, we can trust God and pray with the psalmist, O Lord my God, in you I take refuge here and now. It is written that “a joyful heart (לֵב שָׂמֵחַ) is good medicine” (Prov. 17:22). Where it says, “Serve the LORD with gladness” (Psalm 100:2), the sages note that “with gladness” (בְּשִׂמְחָה) contains the same letters as the word “thought” (מַחֲשָׁבָה), which suggests that happiness is found by thinking righteous thoughts: “Think on these things” (Phil. 4:8). We find spiritual happiness and joy when we are thankful. This is called hakarat tovah (הַכָּרַת טוֹבָה), a phrase that means being aware of the good. Cultivate a sense of wonder. Look at the sky often, for it is the "daily bread of the eyes." Albert Einstein once said, “There are two ways to live your life; one is as though nothing is a miracle, and the other is as though everything is.” Happiness is a choice, a decision to see the good, to open your eyes to wonder, and to turn away from negative, fearful visions. The Torah of the LORD rejoices the heart (Psalm 19:8); let the heart of those who seek the LORD be glad (Psalm 105:3). “Serve the LORD with happiness, come into His presence with singing. Know that the LORD, he is God! It is he who made us, and we belong to him; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.” Let my prayer be counted as incense before you, and the lifting up of my hands as an evening sacrifice. I just finished the great movie OCEAN. And yes let us aknowledge God´s power. He is the giver and sustainer of all life
