Psalm 36:7 (NIV) How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings. Psalm 36:7 (MSG) How exquisite your love, O God! How eager we are to run under your wings, ************************************* How precious it is to know and understand the love of the Father. David had known and experienced this love time and time again; it never failed to amaze him. Our God is ever faithful and we can know that His love is UNFAILING. David said this in Psalm 36:5-9: Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies. Your righteousness is like the highest mountains, your justice like the great deep. You, Lord, preserve both people and animals. How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light. David found safety and peace in the shadow of the Almightys wings. The Lord overshadows his people as a hen protects her brood, or as an eagle covers its young; and we as the little ones run under the blessed shelter and feel at rest. To cower down under the wings of God is so sweet. Although the enemy be far too strong for us, we have no fear, for we nestle under the Lords wing. O that more of Adams race knew the excellency of the heavenly shelter! It made Jesus weep to see how they refused it: our tears may well lament the same evil. ~The Treasury of David David was eager though to find shelter in the shadow of those wings. He saw no shame in admitting his need. He knew that there was complete safety in the shadow of Gods wings and abundance in His arms. No matter what happened David could depend on the fact that God would care for him completely; there was no shortage at the Masters table. Just as a young child trusts their parent to take care of their every need and protect them in every instance, so too should we be with our Heavenly Father. Stop and think back on how as a child you trusted your parent to provide, and protect you. The same trust needs to be given to our Heavenly Father whom never fails us. He is the One who is instant in season and out of season. He is the only One who never leaves us or forsakes us. David knew and understood. How precious, priceless, exquisite is your love, Oh God! No one else can love me quite like you do. There is shelter and peace in the very shadows of your wings. I know I am safe there, no matter what. Thank you Lord God for who you are and what you do every moment of every day for me. AMEN.
