Psalm 42:1 As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God. The deer does not see the flowing streams. Its eyes dart back and forth, straining to find water, as it wanders through the woods. The intensity of the panting grows, as the deer still does not see the stream. This can last for days. So the Christian pants for God. But, we have a promise. We will find the stream, for we shall again praise him (v. 5). It may not be today or tomorrow, but it will come. Wait on God. He will come.
