Psalm 71:1-7 In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust: let me never be - TopicsExpress

Psalm 71:1-7 In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion. Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me. Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress. Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man. For thou art my hope, O Lord God: thou art my trust from my youth. By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art He that took me out of my mothers bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee. I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge. Last night we were talking about the tactics that the devil uses to attempt to defeat us. We talked about how he tries to intimidate us, or discourage us, or distract us. As we look at this passage we need to understand who is writing here; its David, the bone that face Goliath. David understood who God was, he understood the power that God had, he understood the love that God had for him. He knew that God would always be there for him, to protect him, to deliver him. Even though he had sinned, he knew that God loved him and had forgiven him. He knew that he could depend on God for protection and deliverance. Notice he says thou art my rock and my fortress. David always knew that God would be there for him. When he was about to go out face the giant, he told King Saul that the same God, that had delivered him out of the paw of the lion and out of the paw of the bear, would deliver him out of the hand of the uncircumcised Philistine. He told Goliath when he faced him, you come to me with spear and sword, but I come to you in the name of the Lord. Dear friends, we serve the same God!!!!!!!!!! We need to have this same attitude, we need to have this same faith!!!!!!!! I mean, we even have something that David didnt have, we have the record of all that God has done for David, all that God did for the others, Elijah, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, Daniel, Moses, Joshua, Abraham, Joseph, the people of Israel. All of these records written in the bible, the bible that all of us in America have access too!!!!!!! Why should we ever doubt God, why should doubt His power, or His ability to deliver us? Has God changed? No, He says that He is the same yesterday, today, and forever more. We have nothing to fear, we have no reason to doubt. He never failed any of these that we read about, so why should we think that He would ever fail us? He loves us the same way that He loved David and the rest of them. He tells us in Psalm that many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord thy God shall deliver him out of them all. Thats us!!!!!!!! He even tells us the book of Mark, that what so things that ye desire, when you pray, believe that ye shall have them, and ye shall have them. Dear friends, we have got to learn to just have faith in God, to put our trust in Him and to let Him lead us and have control!!!!!!!! He said that He will never leave us, nor forsake us. He will go with us, even to the end!!!!!! Just like we said last night. If God be for us, who then can be against us? He said, in all of these things we are more than conquerors!!!!!!! Let us not be intimidated, let us not be discouraged, let us not be distracted, because if we can just keep our eyes on Jesus, nobody can defeat us!!!!!!!! Praise be to the Lord God almighty, the Great I Am, the Everlasting Father!!!!!!!!!! GOD BLESS YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!
