Psychedelic experience may be a great starting point for all - TopicsExpress

Psychedelic experience may be a great starting point for all hypothetical reasoning, which provides total and uninterrupted cognitive immersion into the issue (one might even say youre thrown into it) and the highest possible degree of imagination which is necessary to fill the gaps in the existing knowledge. Historically, those two factors often account for and correspond to all the stories of inspiration that lead to paradigmatic breaks in scientific evaluation (Newton and Einstein being two prime examples of such unity). Psychedelics in that sense allow inspiration to be deterministic, or quasi-deterministic, as it greatly increases the chances of achieving such unity of mental forces. That might be their long sought after practical utility to make a good case for its legalization outside of the usual medicinal need. If analogy serves justice: they might be pitched as the caffeine of inspiration. My concern with psychedlic epihanies is that their claims for truth always depends on and necessitates a singular/designated state of mind. This makes them, effectively indistinguishable from the religious truth where you have to be surrounded with the circumstances of truth (or, in short, believe in the prepositions of the truth) for the truth to be self-evident. This makes truth claims look like by-products or epiphenomena of a particular state of being, and as such, appears more in tune with fancy than fact, thereby undermining the discovery of it outside of the psychedelic state. I would argue that its the responsibility of any psychedelic user to prove that the truth exists outside of the mind state, even if that means proving a kernel of the totality of epiphany thru rigorous experiments and proofs. This skepticism, I think, works against uncomfortable truths (or paranoias) that seem like verifiable, tangible truths during the psychedelic state of mind. A possibility of truth should be taken for what it is: a possibility. rsif.royalsocietypublishing.org/content/11/101/20140873.full
