#Psychoanalysis & #basketball... At The Psychoanalysis of Basketball, we attempt to explore the NBA through the lens of contemporary psychoanalysis. These ramblings will likely expand to other arenas, such as philosophical and humanistic thought, and really anything that sparks our interest. We are not sure where this project will go or what we will discover, but we are hopeful we’ll find a way to connect two disparate yet alivening subjects. In general, our philosophy towards basketball can be summed up by psychoanalyst Adam Phillips, who in trying to elaborate the uniqueness of psychoanalysis, states: “The aim of psychoanalysis is not to cure people but to show them that there is nothing wrong with them.” Whatever this means or looks like, we hope to duplicate with our diatribes on the world of the NBA.
