(Public Announcement) 250/400 children and parents of Chandler community are sadly disappointed there isnt a Basketball program this year for grades 1-6. The sport is more than the kids playing basketball, it is about teaching them the fundamentals of sportsmanship, working together as a team and accomplishing goals. There hasnt been a basketball program for years in Chandler until Rachelle Thompson went to Tri county basketball association 3 years ago and started a league for Chandler. Since that time the program has grown with more kids and community involvement every year. This is something very important to the children of Chandler. Why are we failing our children of this community when it comes to basketball ?? Why has football and softball always been the top priority sports in Chandler and basketball put aside ? If elected School board officials would put more effort and energy into Basketball we could win State Championships and receive Scholarships for basketball athletes in our community. This issue is bigger than what meets the eye, there will be an article in the Lincoln County news regarding this disappointment and I urge you, the parents of our children and representing the basketball program to call your Chandler Superintendent and ask why the board has allowed this to happen for so many years.
