Public Service Announcement: Most people hear music, but they dont listen to it. You havent really listened to music until you have closed off all other senses and listened to it from a high quality set of speakers or headphones. There is a massive disparity between the care that is used in polishing a lot of modern music and the attention that is given to listening to music by the end user. Musicians and Audio Engineers spend many thousands of dollars and take painstaking measures in order to attain pristine sound quality and detail. Often, the end result is that their music comes out of cheap computer speakers, flimsy ear buds, bloated headphones, distorting car sound systems and over-hyped live PA systems. Meanwhile, people are focused on anything but the music. The manner in which a lot of music is currently appreciated is akin to a nearly blind person trying to critique or admire a magnificent piece of visual art. High quality sound is much more accessible than ever before. If you enjoy music then invest in some good quality speakers or headphones, and spend some time giving your undivided attention to music. Listening requires active participation. Enjoy the ride!
