Public statement on behalf of ENDYL board about the struggle against the shutting down of the Greek public broadcaster The Greek government has decided to target democracy. With an authoritarian decision on Tuesday evening (11/06) it shut down the public radio and TV broadcaster (ERT), shamelessly defaming its employees and depriving the Greek people from a crucial part of its history and tradition. Thousands of citizens in Athens along with the employees of the ERT have occupied the main building of the ERT since Tuesday and constitute the finest example of popular struggles and resistance demanding democracy and freedom of information. ENDYL expresses its deepest solidarity with the comrades of the Youth of SYRIZA and with the thousands of protesters around Greece that are fighting defending democracy.
