Publication day hamper just arrived from Hachette: first time short story publishers who never once asked me to edit out the patois or broken English, who didnt doubt, even when my explanation was l dont know, it just sounds like that, who took every new story I threw at them even though they became increasingly disturbing, who chased down a busy award-winning cover designer and made her read till she agreed to do the cover, who agreed to grass-roots trailer-making and hired my mate to do the job without interference, who when I asked them to write a letter to a local immigration detention centre management for some aspiring writers within who want to attend the launch, also started organising a book delivery for the centre. #blessed #grateful #teary #dreampublisher #athousandthankyous.
