Puerto Lopez, a small fishing village between Salinas and Manta. Primarily knows for its day-trip boat tours to Isla de la Plata, also known as the Poor Mans Galapagos. Puerto Lopez is rapidly developing into a tourist destination but as with so many such communities here in Ecuador, the supporting infrastructure is lagging far behind. Early each morning the fishing boats come up onto the north end of the beach with their daily catch. Within a few hours its all sold and the beach is returned to the tourists.
