Dr. Miguel García Bermúdez, director of the Department of fishery and wildlife of the DNER, traveled last week to Galapagos and there he met Johanna Carrión, Assistant Executive and inter-institutional relations and Noemí Guerra, CDF, in order to receive advice. The biologist also participated as a speaker at the annual meeting of the group specialized in Iguanas of the species survival Commission attached to the International Union for the conservation of nature (IUCN, by its acronym in English). At that annual meeting, Dr. García Bermúdez could expose the results of the work being carried out in the nature reserve with the species in danger of extinction, such as the endemic iguana of Mona, and the tasks of control of invasive species in the island of Monito.
