Puffing Billy Railway, Located in Belgrave, Victoria, Australia, - TopicsExpress

Puffing Billy Railway, Located in Belgrave, Victoria, Australia, recently celebrated the 60th anniversary of the first of the Young Sun Specials on the 13 of December 2014. Here is some of the video I took that day. The Young Sun Specials were created after a landslide closed over 15 miles of the railway between Belgrave and Menzies Creek one year earlier and were used as a final goodbye to Puffing Billy. With more trips organised after the popularity of the first one, the Puffing Billy Preservation Society was formed (1955). Operations continued until 1958, when the broad gauge extended from Upper Ferntree Gully to Belgrave. The Puffing Billy Preservation Society rebuilt the track between Belgrave and Menzies Creek, with operations returning in 1962. The track was gradually reopened until Gembrook, the terminus of the line, was reached in 1998. https://youtube/watch?v=518cYdMJiJI&feature=youtu.be
