Punjab Congress demands resignation of BJP minister Anil Joshi for fabricating vote records Amritsar, February 5- Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) today demanded immediate resignation of Mr. Anil Joshi BJP leader and Local bodies minister after his indictment by the Election Commission of India which has ordered to register criminal complaint against the minister under Representation of People Act 1950. In a statement issued here Congress leaders O.P. Soni, Sardool Singh Vice Presidents PPCC, Sh. Rajiv Bhagat DCC President Amritsar Urban, Sh. Gurjit Aujla DCC President Amritsar Rural, Sh. Karamjit Singh Rintu, Sh. Anil Datta, Sh. Virender Sharma Secretaries PPCC said that Mr. Joshi had no moral right to remain in his post after allegations of enrolling as voter at two places have been found right. They also demanded registration of criminal cases against Mr. Joshi under sections 420,468 and 120 of IPC for fabrication of documents to enroll as voter at two places. They also demanded to book Deputy Commissioners of Amritsar and Tarn Taran under section 201 of IPC for destroying the evidence. The Deputy Commissioners who were Election Returning Officers had given the report to Election Commission that documents submitted by Mr. Joshi were not traceable. The Congress leaders said that that ECI has directed the Chief Electoral Officer Punjab to register FIR against Mr. Joshi for violating provisions of Representation of Peoples Act. They said that Mr. Joshi had filed false affidavit that he is enrolled as voter at one place only. They said that filing false affidavit is another major offense. They said that since the vote on the basis of which Mr. Joshi had contested election has become null and void, ECI must take steps to unseat Mr. Joshi from Vidhan sabha seat of Amritsar(North). The PPCC leaders said that a complaint against forgery and fabrication of voter cards by Mr. Joshi and his family members was made to the Deputy Commissioner Amritsar but he failed to conduct any inquiry due to the political pressure wielded by the Cabinet Minister. Mr. Joshi was rather threatening the complainants of dire consequences. They said that owner of the house No. 3 near Punj Peer GT Road Amritsar where Mr. Joshi and his family members resided has denied that he had ever given any authority to Mr. Joshi to use his address. The PPCC leaders said that Mr. Joshi was also shifted from his previous department of industries on corruption charges. The SAD councilors had also leveled serious allegations of corruption against Mr. Joshi. They said that Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal was defending Mr. Joshi and using him to humiliate BJP MP Navjot Singh Sidhu. They said that allegations of corruption made against Mr. Joshi were in public domain but Chief Minister was soft paddling the issue.
