Punkest rockest moment (outside of Texas) in my whole career as a rabble rouser (19:00). The Dairy Queens rocking out under an overpass to adoring fans. We were surrounded by police from several counties in every direction. They had snach squads operating and plenty of tear gas and rubber bullets for us. Glad we had each other. We had gathered a few hundred friends to deal with the usual business of kicking the government out of the forest, hassling a corrupt city gov. demanding the release of prisoners and of course having a musical concert. We knew we were sposed to be there because every 20 min. or so a train would go by filled with the forest in the form of what they call Board feed of timber, buncha bastards. Can you imagine the rage of this crowd every time a logging train went by? The only thing that got me more upset than the logging was a Korean microchip factory they built on nearby wetlands. And of course the mayor owned adjoining land that he build a bedroom community on. More than half the Clown House was arrested (for unlawful assembly) but I managed to get back to Portland in time to pay the rent. Over time our message got out and we no longer needed such heavy handed tactics to wake folks up. The logging trucks still roll all day every day btw.
