Puntland President Abdirahman Mohamed Farole has today dissolved the Parliament ahead of 2014 President elections. The 66-Mps were on duty for the past 5-years yet they were sworn in back in 2008. Clan elders are expected to select the new 66-member of Parliaments within November yet the campaign for the elections will soon kick off. This election is going to be so different from the past as the current President is striving for a second term in Office as well facing rivalry from opponents and some states. The International Community is monitoring the progress made towards the elections and make sure its not frauded after numerous complaints submitted by the Candidates. One of the Candidates is former Somali Prime minister Prof. Abdiweli Mohamed Ali (Gaas), whose his government leaded Somalia out of transition and managed to held first peaceful and democratic elections in the country for 45-years. UN Special representative to Somalia Nicolas Kay paid a visit to Puntland weeks ago and discussed various issues concerning the elections with the current President, local community, civil societies, clan elders and intellectuals. He urged for a free, fair and peaceful elections. While delivering his speech earlier today in the Parliament house, President Farole congratulated the Mps for the massive job they did for the past 5-years and revealed that most of them will regain their seats. Most of the Mps were pro-Farole, meaning that if half of them regain back their seats most likely hes going to win the elections for a second time. A previous poll states that 75% of the population are seeking for change and not wanting the current President to be back in Office. All eyes on Puntland!!!! Ayub Abdirahman
