Pupils make a splash for safety! Primary school pupils have been going underwater to understand the risks of playing near water. The pupils used washbasins, cooking pots and buckets as tools for their “lecture”. They stood up and buried their heads into the basins. The idea was to give them a sense of what it might be like to experience drowning. Qianzhizhuang Primary School in Henan Province, which is close to a river, hopes this training will give pupils a better understanding of the risks of playing near water and not to play in the water alone. The pupils were also taught practical skills to save themselves from drowning. After the water safety training, pupils said it was tough and unbearable. The school says the practical safety lesson had more impact than traditional classroom lectures. cctvnews.cn/2014/06/10/pupils-make-a-splash-for-safety/
