Puppydate: Ella is in the hospital and its like a 50/50 chance - TopicsExpress

Puppydate: Ella is in the hospital and its like a 50/50 chance because she had the spay surgery, she is so skinny and weak. We know at least one or more has kennel cough and some bloody kind of diarrhea so all were tested and at the moment all but Ella are negative but we know more will get Pavo if not all of them as it takes 3-5 days and is very contagious and they have all played together and potty in the same area. Linda being her sister has been with her since before we got them and Bambi has been in the same crate with Linda and Ella because she is so tiny and crawled in with them. After the first day the bigger ones were let out to play separate from the little ones just because they are so tiny so the tiny ones have been away from the larger ones but the tiny ones all drink out of the same bowl and they can get Parvo from sniffing stool, fluids like sharing a water bowl, etc. So we know more will get it. The 4 bigger ones (not even big, 10 pounds or less) have always been together since before we got them. It takes 3-5 days for Parvo to show and its only been 2 days. We advised the shelter and they said they are just seeing a breakout at the shelter. We have someone coming to help clean, bleach everything and help with the puppies. You can even carry it on your clothes and shoes so we have to be prepared for more to get sick. The vet said the pinkish stool could be Giardia so all have meds for kennel cough and Giardia and will be watched for any signs of Parvo. Please keep them all in your thoughts, prayers and or send good vibes, especially for tiny Ella. We saved a lot with the rescue helping with the pull fees but todays bill was about $1200 but that covers Ella for 3 days. Linda Rapp and Lynne Meadows sent enough to cover one puppy each so thank you beyond words you two really have the biggest hearts and are just so kind, I mean it when I say you are angels! We have to watch them all for symptoms and we know the reality is more will get sick if not all. We are on watch, have IVs ready and praying like crazy. They are all being separated and people scrubbing down everything with bleach, so lets hope we can keep it as controlled as possible.
