Paul, Peter, John, Steven, etc. were all killed because they preached as if they were Christ himself. The reason was not because they thought they were, but because they were partakers in the death of Christ and His sufferings. 2Tim. 1:8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; • They shared in his suffering and felt the way he felt about things. So, their message came across harsh and abrasive to the lukewarm folks. Acts 13:45 But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming. Hot or cold are extremes and thats the way they shared the Gospel because truth was extreme to them. • Can we alter their method to get better results? If we take out the heat and remove the ice, so that it will be a comfortable temperature, will that help people to stomach it? NO according to Christ because its contaminated when its a moderate temperature. The Gospel message is extreme to our carnal existence and should go against the will of the flesh. Acts 23:12 And when it was day, certain of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul. If its comfortable, then its contaminated! • Should we be concerned about quantity or quality? What is Gods concern? God destroyed the existence of man and kept Noahs small family and the animals. He obviously is not concerned about numbers. So, why are churches so concerned with numbers? Why are they cooling down the hot and warming up the cold to grow their ministries? #DailyWord #ElderLewis
