Purpose Driven Life, Day 9--What Makes God Smile? The Lord is pleased with those who worship Him and trust His love. --Psalm 147:11 Jesus said Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.--Matthew 22:37-38 If God smiles when I trust Him, and knows whats best, in what areas of my life to do need to trust Him more? Noahs story tells us a lot about what pleases God: Noah loved, trusted and obeyed God COMPLETELY. He praised and thanked God often, and fulfilled Gods purpose for his life. In short, his relationship with God. The Creator of the universe, the Savior of mankind, and the Lord of All wants nothing more than a relationship with me (Kinda hard to wrap my mind around that sometimes:) Knowing all this is true, then a wise plan would be to talk to God, listen to what He tells me, obey and thank Him for His guidance, and follow His purpose for me. I can probably start in a few places--dealing with certain relationships, and my finances. With the relationships, I sometimes think I need to step back, shut up, and let God work. I have a few financial difficulties-trusting God when I tithe, being secure in my earnings, and being responsible for money. My tithing has certainly improved, but my earnings are an issue-but I also know that I cant expect God to bless me with more if He cant trust me with it--Lord, PLEASE help me be more responsible with my/your money.... I also can improve in my prayer life, as Im very comfortable asking God--expecting God--to work the lives of those I love out. While I can easily ask God to help ME, a lot of times my prayer is weak, and no real muscle behind it, as if I dont expect Him to want to/be able to fix things for me. I also am learning that I need to figure out (with Gods help) what my true purpose is- and do that. This is also an act of worship. If someone you love asks you to do something, theyll likely love you even if you dont do it, but carrying out their wishes shows you love them back--and that is what God wants, too! Lord, help me to practice TRUE WORSHIP-a lifestyle that is responsible, purposeful, and pleasing to You! Thank you Lord, In Jesus Name Amen!
