Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:11-12 ESV) When we finally come to realize the truth in this passage it is both frightening and liberating. Frightening to know that there truly are spiritual forces of evil. But how could this not be true with all that we see happening in the world today? Its then liberating to know that our God provides and, secondly, we are not fighting only against flesh and blood. No wonder we fail so often when are not fully equipped with all the graces our Great God has ready for us! My oldest son had the amazing opportunity to travel halfway around the globe as a summer missionary between his freshman and sophomore years in college. He came home telling of how very dark the country was he sent to minister to. We are still not supposed to mention his name, that country, and the fact that he was there as a missionary on social media for fear the people he stayed with will be persecuted for their efforts there. We are blessed to live in a country where freedom of speech allows us to tell others about Christ and His love for them, but we must realize there is a battle going on that would have these rights taken from us. Christians must stand strong and stand united, fully armed with the graces of God to fight the battles we face every day. You may ask what armor are we provided? We will take a closer look at each piece of armor and its purpose over the next few days. Im excited to see what God has to reveal to us through His Word! Are you? God, I love You so much! Thank You for loving us and for preparing us to do battle! Strengthen us daily, equip us with Your armor and Your graces. May our actions under fire lead others to You. We give You all honor and all glory and all praise. You are so very worthy!!!
