Would it ever have been open to the public or would it have remained a private refuge for the family? A: It depends what choices you are referring to. I knew Elvis to be private so when I first heard the home was being opened, it bothered me a little as Elvis told me that he just wanted Lisa and I to take people through the trophy room. After realizing the upkeep and having to make a choice of selling the home, it would have been important to look at all other options first and give them a shot to see what would happen. Other people were living at Graceland whose lives would be affected too. Im glad that his fans are happy and have been able to see his accomplishments as well as get the feel of him at home.
