Q: How is it working with your sister? LJ: Working with a sibling is really interesting. Of course youre going to butt heads and have to compromise on vision. And those parts are REALLY tough because youre inherently brought up to argue with your sibling. But, luckily, when your sister is the smarter, female version of you and will wildly exceed your creative goals faster than you will, the collaboration is effortless. The best part of working with Jessica was the writing process. Had I written the story alone, the womans perspective wouldnt have been nearly as realistic. Because the story is Benjamins journey, and we only observe Haley by reading her text messages, it was crucial that we heard Haleys characters voice. Jess & I had a great back-and-forth, exploring the female voice vs. the male voice. Not to mention, every time I second-guessed myself, I had my sister there, by my side, to help realize an idea or realize if it was terribly bad.
