QA • Newmarket (CB8) • Salary from £8.32 to £8.49 per hour • 4 on 4 off • 12 hours shift Quality Controller required for a prominent Food Producer in Newmarket area (Suffolk). Successful candidates must have previous experience in Food Manufacturing in a similar role. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES -To regularly audit all departmental process control documentation as directed and identify non-conformances against the agreed standards, specifications and/or procedures. -Raise any non-conformances with the relevant managers, and ensure appropriate action is identified, actions carried out and documented as required. -Authority to stop the lines or cease factory activities in the event of a serious non-conformance which could pose a serious risk to food safety, legality and product quality. -Verify that Critical Control Points are under control by carrying out CCP Audits. -To quarantine and manage non-conforming material. -Carry out hygiene and listeria swabbing and hand swabs according to schedule. -Carry our water sampling, air testing and collect samples for raw material and finished product testing as per schedule. -Collate samples for microbiological analysis and register for analysis with the laboratory -To carry out lab stock checks as per schedule. -To carry out probe calibration according to the schedule. -To conduct glass, hard and brittle plastic and ceramic audits according to the schedule. Complete breakage procedure if necessary. -To perform verification of scales and check weigher pack checks to the agreed schedule. -Carry out positive air checks according to schedule. -Carry out GMP Audits ensuring corrective and preventive actions are identified and closed off. -Control the issuing of knives, scissors and metal detector sticks to the relevant team leaders. -Carry out Environmental temperature checks in accordance to the schedule. -To carry out taste panels as per schedule -Complete KPI sheets and attend morning production meeting to raise any issues as required. -To carry out internal audits -To carry out trace exercise for HR out of specification micro results. -To arrange for reference swabs / samples to be sent to the lab and logged for out of specification results -Ensure compliance to QMS system at all times -Carry out tasks deemed necessary by the QA Manager/ Technical Manager. EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE -Post ’16 years’ education (eg: A-levels, degree) in science or food subjects -Food industry experience an advantage but not essential -Attention to detail -Literacy and numeracy -Basic PC skills -Good written and verbal communication -Influencing people Contact details: [email protected]
