QFEST, the official H-Town film festival of incredible filmmaking by and about our exploding LGBT community, is opening next week with an array of films, seminars, parties, fear and loathing….Last night at the monthly Salon at SWAMP, the Southwest Alternate Media Project, a preview of offerings wowed the crowd, as Qfest curators Kristian Salinas, SWAMP Program Coordinator, and the ubiquitous Stephanie Saint Sanchez screened this year’s trailer and film clips. Faces in the crowd included SWAMP Executive Director Mary M. Lampe, Hector Luna of C47 Magazine; Jason Raschen, Producer, and Alfred Cervantes, Deputy Director of the Houston Film Commission…Filmmaker Sergio Sandoval, who begins production on a short film this Saturday…and media activist and gadfly Habeer who is reclusive and does not like his picture taken…check out this year’s great lineup at : q-fest.org
