A weak surface trough will cross far southern waters on Wednesday. Strong Wind Warning Torres Strait to Cairns Expect south to southeasterly winds 25 to 30 knots. Seas to 3 metres outside the reef and 2.5 metres inside the reef. Strong Wind Warning Cairns to St. Lawrence Expect south to southeasterly winds to increase to 25 to 30 knots from early Wednesday morning. Seas increasing to 3 metres outside the reef and 2.5 metres inside the reef. Strong Wind Warning Sandy Cape to Point Danger Expect south to southeasterly winds to increase to 25 to 30 knots from the south during Wednesday afternoon. Seas increasing to 3 metres. The next warning will be issued by 11 pm AEST. Please be aware Wind gusts can be a further 40 percent stronger than the averages given here, and maximum waves may be up to twice the height.
