During this time students are offered the opportunity to relax as they may have had to wake early to come to the center and may still be tired. If students would not like to sleep, they are given free play time before breakfast. This free time is great for developing your childs imagination as many of the children use this time for extended dramatic play. After School Care After school care begins at 2:00pm, or whenever your child gets out of school. During this time students are given one-on-one help with homework and fed a nutritious snack, we also do daily crafts and encourage children to use their imagination during free play. Once homework is finished, students can participate in outdoor play, afternoon calendar, indoor centers and free play activities. Nuner Primary Center buses to our center location, but we also offer transportation from all South Bend Community Schools and neighboring Mishawaka schools. Transportation Transportation is offered Monday-Friday 7:00am-6:00pm. We strive to meet your transportation needs by providing transportation to and from home or school; we can even set up pick-ups and drop-offs at different locations if needed. All of our drivers carry full coverage insurance; all you have to provide is the car seat. Please read our parent handbook which outlines the rules, policies and fees for transportation. *Transportation availability is based on staffing and the transportation needs of our current families. Evening Care (until 11:30 p.m.) Unlike most learning centers, our care does not stop at 6pm. We understand that everyone has different care needs and would like to accommodate our families in as many ways as possible. Our evening care program operates from the hours of 6:00pm-11:30pm. Our goal is to provide a safe familiar home like environment where students can unwind in the evening. Evening care is not structured like our general classroom setting, but instead consists of more free time to help the student relax. Students are fed dinner at 6:30 and an evening snack at 8:00pm. At 9:00pm the students are put to bed comfortably on cots with their own blankets or sleeping bags. Weekend Care Small People Big Dreams Learning Center is excited to offer weekend care to all of our families. We offer care Saturday early in the morning and late into the evening to accommodate everyone. Weekend care is Saturday from 5:30am-11:30pm. Our Saturday care is run similarly to our week day care. Your child will receive hot meals, nutritious snacks and be in a safe and familiar learning environment. Lots of free play time is available, along with arts and crafts, games, and story time.
