QUESTION: Can you advise this CNA? - CNA Angels >>>> I work night shift and another resident was added to the list of people we have to get up. It was written in the communication book but I somehow overlooked it. That was my fault. But... My boss is refusing to pay me for the 35 minutes it took me to stay and do this residents morning cares. The coworker who came in to relieve me after my shift refused to let me go home until this persons cares were done. Technically isnt this illegal!? We do not have time cards. We hand write our hours and arent allowed to write anything except the scheduled shift. For example: 10pm-6am IS allowed but, say, 9:52pm-6:13am is NOT. We dont get paid for arriving and beginning early (because the moment you arrive youre working) or leaving late (to finish your tasks). AND youre not allowed to leave UNTIL everything is done. HELP!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Its only $4.25 extra on my paycheck but its the principal of it. I should get paid for that time!
